What this website, Engine and the Engine plugin do with data. The short answer is that none of them collect anything about you, unless you send us a report.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This page explains how engine.arthonier.com (the "Website"), Engine and the Engine Studio plugin deal with data. It is written to be short and readable.
The short version
- The Website has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no trackers and no ads.
- The Website remembers one thing in your browser: whether you chose the light or the dark theme. It never leaves your device.
- If you send a report through the report form, we receive what you write in it, and your email address only if you give it.
- Engine and the Engine plugin do not send any data to Arthonier.
- Data that Engine handles inside your experience, such as player data, stays in your experience on Roblox, under your control.
1. Who is responsible
Arthonier (arthonier.com) runs the Website and publishes Engine. You can reach us through arthonier.com/contact.
2. The Website
What we do not do
We do not ask you to sign up, we do not set cookies, and we do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or social media widgets. Fonts are served from the Website itself, so loading a page does not contact font services such as Google Fonts.
Your theme choice
When you switch between the light and the dark theme, your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the name engine-theme, so the Website looks the same next time. It is only read by the Website in your own browser and is never sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Reports
The report form is the only place on the Website where you send us information. When you send a report, we receive what you fill in: the type of problem, the title, your description, any Output you paste, the module, version and update model you enter, and your email address if you give one. We also receive your browser's user agent, which helps us reproduce problems.
The report is delivered as an email to Arthonier's mailbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). We use reports only to understand and fix problems in Engine, the plugin and the Website, and to reply to you if you left an email address. We keep a report as long as we need it for that, and we never sell it or use it for marketing. Leave out personal information that the report does not need, such as passwords or other people's details.
Search
The search box downloads the list of documentation pages from the Website once, then searches it inside your browser. What you type is not sent to us.
Hosting
The Website runs on Cloudflare. Like every website, your browser's requests reach Cloudflare's servers, which process technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and to protect the Website against attacks and abuse. We do not use this data to identify you, build a profile of you or sell anything to you. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Links to other websites
When you follow a link to another website, such as Roblox, the Roblox Creator Store, GitHub or social media, that website's privacy policy applies.
3. Engine
Engine runs inside your Roblox experience, on Roblox's servers and your players' devices.
- Engine sends nothing to Arthonier. It has no telemetry and does not report usage, errors or player information to us.
- Automatic updates load the published engine through Roblox's own asset services when a server starts. That is a normal Roblox asset load; no data is sent to Arthonier.
- Data Engine stores, such as player profiles (DataService), balances (EconomySystem), moderation records (ModerationSystem), leaderboards and statistics, is saved in your experience's own Roblox DataStores and MemoryStores. Arthonier cannot see or access it.
- Outgoing web requests only happen when you set them up yourself, for example Discord webhooks or custom sinks in StatisticsService. You decide where that data goes.
For your players, you (the developer of the experience) are responsible for the data your experience keeps, and Roblox's terms and policies apply. Engine includes tools that help, such as EraseRecordAsync in ModerationSystem for removing a player's moderation record when you receive a data deletion request.
4. The Engine plugin
The Engine plugin runs inside Roblox Studio. It reads the published version of Engine from Roblox to show whether an update is available, and installs or updates Engine in the place you have open. It does not send any data to Arthonier.
5. Your rights
Apart from reports you send us, the Website and Engine do not collect personal data for Arthonier, so there is usually nothing for us to show, correct or delete. If you sent a report and want to see it or have it deleted, or you have another question about your data, contact us through arthonier.com/contact. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
6. Changes
If what the Website, Engine or the plugin do with data changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
